Toasty Marshmallow Hearts

-Jesus wants to be part of your conversation.

-Open your heart to recognize the presence of Jesus around you.

Malulabelle snuggled into her favorite pink camping chair, joining a circle of friends around the campfire. The night sky was a dome of black, dotted with twinkly stars.

“Who has the first ghost story?” Gracie turned on the flashlight.

“It was a dark and stormy night…” George began.

Malulabelle held wide eyes and a smile through the ghost stories. She joined the others with jumps, squeals, and belly laughs.

“I love campfire nights,” giggled Malulabelle. The little fire danced. Crack! Pop! To Malulabelle, even the campfire was happy. Malulabelle gazed into the flickering flames. She wanted to share her heart with Jesus.

Jesus, I know you are with us right now too. You are laughing along to our stories!

Malulabelle squished a marshmallow onto a stick and reached it into the fire. She watched it turn melty and toasty. This gave her a new thought. She prayed again.

Jesus, my heart is like this marshmallow! When it’s around you, it feels warm & toasty and it changes. Thank you, Jesus. Let me always feel the flames of your love surrounding my heart.

Have you ever felt the presence of Jesus so strongly, like his love was burning in your heart? When we look for Jesus in our day, we can feel his warmth and peace. Bring him into your conversation. He is ready to listen, already delighting in you.
