Strawberry Patch

At times a little encouragement from friends can help our friendship with Jesus grow. Other times we are called to be the friend that shares Jesus.
Malulabelle rushed into the strawberry patch with Simon and Emma. The friends stooped low to examen the plump, red berries they had been tending all spring.
The shiny berries were firm with just the right squishiness. Malulabelle softly held the bright green stem cap and gave the strawberry a twist. “Perfect! They are ripe and ready!”
Simon was eager to sample the biggest berry freshly collected in his basket.
“Wait for us!” Emma plucked one from the vine and tossed one to Malulabelle.
“1, 2, 3!” At the same time, they popped the fruity morsels in their mouths. Soft, tasty and warm from the sun.
“Yum!”
“Wow!”
“Just one more…”
Pink juice trickled down their chins. They snacked and giggled.
The strawberries burst with flavor. Malulabelle’s heart burst with joy! She wanted to share with Jesus.
‘Jesus, these strawberries taste like Heaven. Will Heaven be as joyful as eating garden picked strawberries?’ She giggled again.
Malulabelle smiled at her friends across the patch. She thought about all the time they spent in the garden that spring. They planted, watered, weeded, and waited. Their hard work made the harvest taste even sweeter. This gave her a new thought. She prayed again.
“Jesus, sometimes we are like your little strawberries – we need time to grow in your soil of love to strengthen our soul. And sometimes we are like your little gardeners – sharing our faith and encouraging little vines to grow the juiciest fruit. Thank you, Jesus, for knowing what we need, and letting us be a part of your little strawberry patch.”
Imagine taking a walk through Jesus’s strawberry patch. Are you his little strawberry that is learning and growing in your faith? Maybe you are his little gardener because you have told a friend about Jesus. Jesus delights in you! He loves every little strawberry and gardener in his patch.
