God invites everyone into His heart.
Malulabelle skipped up the library steps. She carried a small stack of books to return.
She entered the big hall and took a deep breath. ‘I love the smell of books!’ She giggled. The library was one of her favorite places. A sign on the wall read, Open a New Book Today. Her heart felt as full and wide as the bookshelves before her.
Malulabelle imagined she was walking through a tall maze. She scanned and peeked through the rows of shelves. Books up high. Books down low. She settled in a comfy bean bag by the window. A new stack of books filled her arms.
Malulabelle read. She paused and pondered. She opened her journal. She listed her favorite character names, scenes, and story parts that made her heart swell.
Malulabelle shared her ideas with Jesus. ‘Jesus, is there a library in Heaven? What are your favorite books?’ She imagined being in a book club with Jesus. She giggled again.
Malulabelle’s eye caught the sign on the wall once more. Open a New Book Today. This gave her a new thought. Her heart skipped a beat, as if she just read the happy ending to a story. She shared her heart with Jesus again.
‘Jesus, you are like an open book. You invite us into your story, where our hearts can learn and grow with yours. Thank you, Jesus.’
It’s true! Jesus invites us into his heart. Open the pages to his friendship and your story will unfold alongside him.
