What gifts can you offer God?
Malulabelle stepped outside and admired the bold colors of the changing leaves. Orange. Red. Gold. The leaves flittered in the breeze. She imagined the trees were winking and waving at God. She giggled.
Near the trees a murmuration of starlings whooshed and whirled in a swirling pattern. Overhead, a team of geese flew in formation. Honk. Honk. Honk. Malulabelle could hardly contain her love of nature’s activity on this ordinary day. Her heart felt as crisp and refreshing as the autumn air. She shared her thoughts with Jesus.
“Jesus, thank you for these gifts of the fall season. They are glimpses of Heaven. Do you have different seasons in Heaven?” She imagined Jesus jumping into a pile of autumn leaves. She giggled again.
Malulabelle took a deep breath and smiled. She had a new thought. She shared her heart with Jesus again.
“Jesus, you give me lots of gifts. Some big. Some small. I see them! I feel them in my heart. I want to give you a gift too.” Malulabelle twirled out near the trees. She pranced and danced. She blew kisses up to Heaven. “Jesus, my gift to you is my joy.”
