Little Ways

Jesus reveals himself to us in little ways.
Malulabelle woke up early. She peeked out her window. “The sunrise!” Bold orange and pink hues lit the sky. She stretched as wide as the sun beams.
When the sun shown higher in the sky, Malulabelle said goodbye to her fluffy pup, Coconut. “See you after choir practice, Coconut!”
“Ruff!” He wiggled and wagged. He tickled her chin with an I-love-you lick. Coconut always knew how to make her giggle.
Malulabelle began her walk to church around the corner. “What’s this?” Something caught her eye on the sidewalk. She crouched for a closer look.
A row of ants carried a tiny twig. “You are working very hard, little ants!” She imagined the ants telling her thank you in their little ant voices. She giggled again.
Malulabelle was first to arrive at choir practice. She sat in a pew to wait. The light in the church seemed extra sparkly today.
Her eyes followed the stain-glass windows all the way to the ceiling. Purple and blue beams of light streamed along the walls and floor. She wanted to share her heart with Jesus.
“Jesus, you’ve given me a lot of gifts today. Each unique with its own beauty. The sunrise. The little row of ants. And now these sparkly windows.”
Her heart felt warm, and as sparkly as the church lighting. She continued her prayer.
“Jesus, your gifts show me who you are. Little by little. They fill my heart with a sparkling light. And with each little gift, I know you even more. Thank you, Jesus.”
Jesus reveals himself to us in many ways. Look for him in the little joys of your day. Where has he shown you His love today? Remember to reveal your heart to him too!
