When you feel like hiding, leap into Jesus’s arms.
Malulabelle grabbed her journal and pen and trotted toward the mossy pond. I hope there are lots of frogs today! Along the bank, several pair of shiny frog eyes greeted her. She sat at a distance to observe. They stared out onto the water. Malulabelle giggled. I wonder what they’re thinking?
She watched the frogs’ throats pumping in and out. She listened to their trilling. Croak. Croak. Croak. Malulbelle imagined each grouping was a little frog family gathering for a picnic at the pond. She drew and wrote in her journal. She giggled again.
Malulabelle’s heart felt as smooth and soothing as the croaking rhythm of the frogs’ song. She shared her heart with Jesus.
“Jesus, these froggy families sit still and calm. They seem to know the secret to happiness.”
Malulabelle approached the pond’s edge for a closer look. Splash! Plunk! Plop! Some of the frogs leaped into the pond and disappeared from view. ‘Jesus, I frightened my little friends. Is it more peaceful in the water?’ This gave her a new thought. She shared her heart with Jesus again.
“Jesus, when I’m afraid, I want to hide too, like the frogs leaping out of sight. But I know you give me peace. So instead, I will leap into your arms. Thank you, Jesus.”
Yes! True peace can only be found in the arms of Jesus. Just a little leap will get you there. Following his guidance will keep you there.
What is one little leap you can take today to be closer to Jesus?
