Little Questions, Big Faith

- Faith can grow by spending time in prayer with Jesus.
- Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.
Malulabelle looked up into the clear night sky. The moon beamed a brilliant blanket of light over the land. To Malulabelle, the moon looked like a proud leader shining light onto loved ones. It made her giggle. She wanted to be shined on too.
Malulabelle collected her journal and pen, wrapped a blanket around her shoulders, and settled on the front porch. The air was calm. It was quiet. She opened her journal and titled her entry Thoughts For Jesus.
“Jesus, I have a lot of questions for you:
· Why did you make some things so big - like the sun and moon – and other things so tiny, like a ladybug?
· How did you come up with the idea of making the sun and moon and earth line up perfectly during an eclipse?
· Why do fish breathe underwater, but people have to hold their breath?”
Malulabelle’s thoughts continued, but she stopped writing for a moment. She prayed out loud.
“Jesus, your world is enormous. And I get to be part of it, too.” She sat in the stillness a bit longer. She looked at the twinkling stars. They reminded her of angels sparkling in heaven. This gave her a new thought.
“Jesus, you are like an artist. Thank you for letting me see your artwork. I still have questions, but I do know that everything you create has a unique place in the world, even me.”
Jesus knows your heart. He delights in your prayers. Take time today to ask him your questions. You may feel his answer with peace in your soul. What a special way to strengthen your faith and friendship with Jesus.
