Little Cupcake

Jesus satisfies our soul.

Malulabelle peered through the glass display at the cupcake shop. Neat rows of fluffy cupcakes lined the case. Some were sparkly, others were topped with silky smooth icing. Malulabelle wanted to try them all!

“I’ll start with the pink one please!” She took a big first bite. Moist and delicate, buttery and sweet. A dollop of frosting covered her nose. She giggled. The cupcake burst with flavor. Malulabelle’s heart burst with joy. She shared her thoughts with Jesus.

‘Jesus, how can cupcakes make me so happy? There must be cupcakes in Heaven.’ She giggled again.

Malulabelle savored her last tasty bite. She peeked at the cupcakes in the display case again. She admired the pops of color and variety of flavors. But this time, she didn’t want to eat one. This gave her a new thought. She shared her heart with Jesus again.

“Jesus, at first I wanted all the cupcakes! But just one made me happy and full. It’s like our friendship, Jesus. Only you can fill my heart with sweetness and satisfy my soul. You are all I need. Thank you, Jesus.”

Isn’t it true? We often look for happiness in many ways. But only a friendship with Jesus can bring us a lasting peace. Ask Him to fill your heart with His sweetness. He is waiting to satisfy your soul.
