Holy Spirit

by Ashley Karges

May 10, 2026

-The Holy Spirit is our special helper, providing comfort, guidance, and peace.

 - A heart filled with the Holy Spirit makes us feel alive!

“First one to the tree wins!” Malulabelle and her buddy, Henry, positioned themselves behind an imaginary starting line.

“Remember, skipping only!”

“Go!”

Off they bound! Leaping, bouncing, skipping and giggling through the long stretch of grass.

“I win!”  Henry clapped the tree. Malulabelle gave Henry a high five. The two collapsed on their backs to catch their breath.

Malulabelle took a deep breath. Her lungs were burning. She felt happy and alive! She wanted to share her heart with Jesus.

‘Jesus, you know what makes me feel happy. Thank you for my friend, Henry, for our skipping race idea, and for letting us catch our breath on this beautiful day!’

Malulabelle sprawled out on her back and watched the sky.

“Look at the clouds, Henry. That one is an elephant!”

“Over there – it’s a dragon!” pointed Henry. “And now, it’s a man with a beard!” The friends discovered lots of silly outlines in the sky. They giggled more.

“How do they change shapes so fast?”

“The wind!”

Malulabelle sat up and closed her eyes. She felt the strong breeze blow across her face and through her hair. She took another deep breath. She felt peaceful. This gave her a new thought.

“Henry, will you pray with me?”

“Yes!”

“Jesus, we can’t see the wind, but we know it’s there. It changes the shape of the clouds. We feel it on our cheeks. It’s like the Holy Spirit. We can’t see Him, but we can feel Him in our hearts. He changes the shape of our souls. Thank you Jesus, for helping us feel alive with the Holy Spirit.”

“Ok, Henry. It’s time for a rematch!”

“Let’s go!”

Have you ever compared the Holy Spirit to the wind? We cannot see the wind or the Holy Spirit with our eyes. But, we do know the wind is present when we feel it on our face. We know the Holy Spirit is present when we feel a sense of peace, love, or joy. He is like an invisible helper guiding our hearts. Look for ways you see others being kind, gentle, or patient, and know, that is the Holy Spirit leading the way.
