Friendship Bracelets

Give Jesus your worries and watch what he creates.
Malulabelle gathered the colorful spools of string. She had volunteered to make friendship bracelets for a church project.
“Oranges and blues… purples and reds… This is a lot of string, Coconut!” She tussled her fluffy pup’s furry head.
“Ruff!” Coconut wiggled and wagged and plopped next to Malulabelle. Malulabelle giggled.
She cut each strand into perfect bracelet-sized lengths. It became a messy pile of threads.
She sighed. “This is a big job, Coconut.” Her heart felt as tangly as the pile of strings.
Coconut gave her an I-love-you lick. He always knew how to make her feel better.
Malulabelle began braiding. She hummed and whistled. She sang to Coconut. She braided more.
With each new braid, the messy pile of threads dwindled. A new pile formed - a neat row of brightly colored friendship bracelets. Malulabelle’s heart lifted. She shared her thoughts with Jesus.
“Jesus, I was worried about this big project. But I am getting the job done, braid by braid, and I feel better.”
Malulabelle weaved, blended and criss-crossed. She looked again at the two piles of string – messy and neat. This gave her a new thought. She shared her heart with Jesus.
“Jesus, sometimes my heart feels messy. Lost and tangly. But You neatly weave the tangles of my heart with Your love, to create something new and beautiful. Thank you Jesus! I will think of You every time I wear my new bracelet.”
Can you imagine making friendship bracelets with Jesus? He is with you, waiting to take your tangled worries. Give Him your whole messy pile and see the beauty He creates.
