Themes:
- When we lead others to Jesus, we are like the bright, guiding star over the manger.
- Reflect on your day. Who was your guiding star? Who were you a guiding star to?
Malulabelle snuggled into her comfy bed. She wore her new Christmas pajamas. She reached her arms wide in a big stretch, and settled in. “Hop on up, Coconut.”
“Ruff!” Coconut, her fluffy pup, wiggled and wagged and nestled close.
“Do you see the stars, Coconut?”
“Ruff!” He nuzzled his nose against her arm. What a good boy. He always knew how to make her giggle.
The sky was clear. The moon glowed. Malulabelle searched and spotted the brightest star. It made her think about the bright star over the manger of Baby Jesus.
Coconut, let’s pray. “Dear Jesus. The star over the manger must have been beautiful. I wish I could have seen it’s rays of shining light.”
Malulabelle smiled and yawned. She thought about her day and what brought her joy.
Her friend, Evelyn, shared a piece of her favorite chocolate.
She helped a little neighbor boy tie his shoe.
At the library, she let her friend, Joey, check out the last copy of a new book.
These joyful moments made her feel a warm glimmer inside, like her heart was sparkling. It gave her a new thought.
"Jesus, you were a part of my joyful moments today. I do get to see your bright star – in the love shared with others. You are what makes my heart glimmer, as dazzling as the star over your manger. Thank you, Jesus!"
Have you ever felt a love and peace so strongly that it was as if your heart was sparkling? That is the feeling of Jesus. When we share this feeling through our kind words and actions, we are like the bright, shining star over the manger – we are guiding others to Jesus.
